which one is better? the scorching debate continues...

The DVRs in the Security Market today were divided into 2 major Groups; the Linux-Based DVRs and the Windows-Based DVRs. Each kind has both pros and cons. One has greater advantage over the other for specific applications. To help the readers better understand the significant differences between the two and which is more appropriate to use for a desired function, please share your knowledge on how you determine one as more advantageous and more efficient compared to the other.

Actually often Windows Based DVR means normal windows PC with DVR software.

Most of installers are can handlee windows PC without any problems and this is the main reason why they can do more with windows based DVRs.

Installers generally just don't know Linux as much.

For me this is the biggest difference.
