I still have not found any helpful info on this DVR. However, I am feeling stronger that the contact info I gave you this morning is to the manufacturer.

I suggest that you call 886-2-27994288 (you will have to put a 011 before that to place an international call from the U.S.). Chances are, the first person who answers the phone will only speak Chinese. Speaking slowly, say "United States... English please." You should then be transferred to an English speaking rep who is responsible for U.S. sales. This person should be able to advise you of the default username and passcode.

Considering that I did not find anyone in the U.S. that sold this DVR, I am thinking that it was the manufacturer that listed the product on ebay. I've been seeing this become more and more common for the past few years. My take is that it's normally a manufacturer that is experiencing difficulties with finding someone in the U.S. to distribute their wares. When this happens, they typically hide their true address, and may give a VOIP phone number with a USA area code. If you placed your order, but did not receive the DVR for a week or more... their is a good chance that it was mailed from Taiwan or mainland China. The main problems is that typically, equipment sold this way is junk or knock-offs that legitimate vendors do not want to touch. Lastly, tech support is very hard to obtain.

If you call and learn the username & passcode to your DVR, please return and post it here as it may help others in the same boat.
