I have a 4ch dvr with a genistech gs501 network module. I have used the dvr for years without using the netowrk. I need the default login and password. I have tried admin admin and dozens of combiations but have no idea what it is. I have never set up the networking so it is still the default any help would be appreciated

What is the make & model of your DVR? I assume that it is a non-windows-based DVR?

I'm not sure if it is the same Genistech, but I suspect that this may be the company that made your module:

Unfortunately, I did not see any information about the module you spoke of. It appears that they want you to use their support form, or email them at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or call their Taipei office at 886-2-27994288.

the model is a xsj3104l. I have emailed genistech several times with no reply. The login screen comes up "Genistech gs501" asks for login and password to access network module. I have the ip and mac address and know how to set it up. i just don't have the default login or password. I used to have the cd but never used it and now it is lost. I've got the manual. but nothing in it gives a password for the network.

Is the manufacturer named Enregistreur or VSED? Where did you purchase the DVR from? On the flip side... what is the IP address you are attempting to use to view your cameras? Enter code here Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

I bought it on ebay 2 years ago. I have no idea which manufacturer. only that the page that comes up when I connect to it says "Genistech gs501 network module" asks for login and password. I'm sure there are 1000's of these floating around I just need to get a hit. Enter code here Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

when i get the wrong login password screen the browser header switches to "pikachucam" when i click okay to try to reenter another guess it reverts to gs501 network module Enter code here Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable
